Oncology / Mixed Acuity Pc Unit

Experience: Must have medical-surgical and inpatient hematology oncology experience in checklist (1 year minimum). Chemo certification is required.

Patient Diagnoses:

• Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL)
• Acute Myeloid Leukemia (Adult)
• Amyloidosis
• Aplastic Anemia
• Chronic Leukemia
• Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL)
• Chronic Myeloid (Myelogenous) Leukemia
• Hodgkin's Lymphoma
• Multiple Myeloma
• Myelodysplastic Syndrome
• Myeloproliferative Disorders
• Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma

Special Procedures/Unit Details:

• Autologous Transplants: Patients receive their own stem cells.
• Syngeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their identical twin.
• Allogeneic Transplants: Patients receive stem cells from their sibling, parent, or an unrelated donor.
• CAR-T Therapy

Certifications Required:

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Preferred

Computerized Charting: EPIC experience required

Skills Required:

• MS/Tele (Medical-Surgical/Telemetry)
• Telemetry monitoring
• Interpretation of dysrhythmias
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Feeding tube care and management
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draw
• Peripheral line care/management
• PICC line management
• Nasal cannula administration
• Central line sterile dressing changes
• Chemotherapy administration

If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract, you may be scheduled for days, nights, or a combination of both, depending on the department's needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period, but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time.

Parking Permit Options:

• The WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits.
• The WMC permit is available monthly.
• WMC Monthly Permit: 24/7 access to the Wexner Medical Center Garage #/month or # per 100 days.
• WB Annual Permit: 9th Avenue East and West Garages on weekends and holidays; West Campus WB/WC lots 24/7 with shuttle service #/year.
• CXS Annual Permit: 9th Avenue East and West Garages on weekends and holidays; Buckeye CX and West Campus lots 24/7 #/year.
• Parking is available in West Campus Carmack Lots 2 and 3, approximately 1.7 miles from OSU Wexner Medical Center. The Pink Shuttle runs every 35 minutes during peak times and reaches the medical center in approximately 89 minutes.
• Weekend garage access is available from Friday at 2:00 p.m. through Monday at 8:00 a.m. Outside those hours, regular hourly garage rates apply.
• Refund Information: Prorated refunds may be available for unused future months on annual permits. Current and prior months are not refundable. Cancel by 6:30 p.m. on the last business day of the month to avoid the next charge. Refund checks may take 35 weeks.
