About the Position

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Intensive Care Unit Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years in ICU License: Valid Compact Nursing License required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, CCRN Must-Have: - Previous charge experience - Experience with the charting system Epic - Ability to float to other units as needed Description: This position requires a registered nurse specialized in ICU. The nurse will be expected to float between units based on skill sets. Weekends are required, with a commitment to work at least every other weekend. The expected patient ratios are 1:1 or 1:2. Travel between facilities may be necessary to meet operational needs. The daily census in the unit is approximately 24 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes various therapeutic and support teams such as respiratory services and pharmacy. Skills required include management of critically ill patients, ventilator management, and interpretation of arterial blood gases. The registered nurse will be responsible for monitoring ECG rhythms, administering vasoactive medications, and managing patients with multi-system organ dysfunction. Clinical competencies must be met prior to starting the assignment. References must be provided during the compliance process. It is essential to commit to working three of five holidays during the contract period. Inflexibility regarding scheduling may lead to termination of the contract.
