HVAC TechniciansComplete Building Services—a Donohoe Company, is hiring HVAC Technicians in support of a large campus in Washington, DC. Our HVAC Technicians are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems across campus facilities. This role supports a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment through skilled mechanical, electrical, and control systems work. The HVAC technician plays a key role in ensuring the physical integrity of building systems and responding to maintenance issues as needed.ScheduleShift: First ShiftHours: 6:00 AM – 2:30 PMSalary $35.69-$43.26 per hour.Oversee install, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain HVAC systems, including:Condensers, compressors, evaporators, motors, chillers, cooling towersHeat pumps, air handlers, fans, dampers, duct systemsDX units, filters, valves, gear boxes, and associated pipingRebuild and repair both commercial and domestic refrigeration systemsPerform preventative maintenance and minor fabrication work as neededAssign Calibrate, adjust, repair, and operate pneumatic, electronic, and electrical controls.Troubleshoot mechanical and electronic control systems.Coordinate with the building management systems (BMS) team to facilitate adjustments to system parameters including set points, schedules, and controller updates.Install or replace control boards and wiring related to HVAC operationsEnsure adherence to EPA regulations regarding refrigerant handling, reclaiming, and disposal.Follow all safety protocols when working with high-voltage systems or hazardous chemicals.Maintain service logs and documentation in compliance with regulatory and institutional standardsRespond promptly to urgent maintenance calls affecting HVAC or cooling systems.Provide support for after-hours issues as part of a rotating on-call team when neededYou Should HaveMust be able to pass a background check to obtain site badgeExperience with BMS systems and HVAC energy optimization strategiesTen (10) years experience working on commercial HVAC systemsHVAC journeyman license preferredBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, preferredKnowledge of local and federal HVAC regulationsProficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS)Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, energy management systems, and refrigeration equipmentFacilities Maintenance, or related field preferredAbility to complete maintenance and basic troubleshootingEPA/CFC Refrigerant Handling Certification requiredCompleted coursework in HVAC areasMust have working knowledge of 480V and below electrical systems, HVAC and plumbing systemsPossess excellent written and verbal communication skills and a professional demeanorMust be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced work environmentValid driver's licenseEOE, including disability/veteransWhy You'll Love Working With UsComplete Building Services (CBS) is a company that is passionate about the operation and maintenance of buildings/facilities in the commercial and government sectors.
