Job Title Architectural Designer II Posting Open Until Filled Salary Range: $58,977 - $79,000 annually Department Department of Enterprise Assets Management General Description The position involves the comprehensive development of complex building designs that meet aesthetic standards, functional requirements, and regulatory specifications. It requires creative solutions tailored to client needs and proactive communication and collaboration with stakeholders, including engineers, contractors, and urban planners to ensure project alignment and successful completion. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop architectural and interior designs in line with client specifications, budget, and local regulatory laws. Create detailed architectural plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. Present designs, proposals, and progress reports to clients and stakeholders. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals involved in the project. Oversee and guide the construction process, ensuring the project adheres to the planned design, quality standards, and safety regulations. Manage project deadlines and budgets, making necessary adjustments to keep the project on track. Stay updated on the latest architectural trends, technologies, and regulations. Address any issues or delays that may arise during the construction process. Serve as a technical resource or mentor to other employees. Lead or instruct less experienced workers in high-level or technical roles. Perform other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of architecture, architectural practice, and designing of public buildings. Knowledge of architectural and building materials. Knowledge of costs, codes, and construction methods. Knowledge of structural, electrical, and mechanical engineering related to buildings. In-depth knowledge of building laws, regulations, and codes. Skill in using personal computers and standard office software, as well as architectural design and visualization software. Ability to devise and analyze comprehensive architectural designs. Ability to present information clearly in pictorial and written forms. Ability to analyze situations accurately and adopt effective actions. Exceptional communication and project management skills. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Architecture. Five (5) years of progressively responsible professional experience in the practice of architecture/design. Demonstrated work experience as an architect/designer with substantial leadership experience guiding architectural projects from inception to completion. Ability to understand master specifications. A comprehensive portfolio showcasing design skills and innovative approach. Advanced proficiency in design and visualization software, including AutoCAD, Revit, and 3D Studio Max. Preferred Requirements Six plus years of increasingly responsible, related professional experience in Architecture. License as a Professional Architect and/or NCIDQ certified candidate (preferred but not required). Work Environment Required physical, lifting, and sensory capabilities. Lifting requirements: Light work — up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, or up to 10 pounds of force to move objects.
