About the Position

License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: ACLS, BCLS required. Must-Have: Experience with drains, monitoring flaps post-operation, tracheostomy/total laryngectomy care, tube feeding, phlebotomy, IV access, and central line management. Telemetry experience is required. Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in medical surgical care. The role involves caring for patients on an ENT and plastic surgery unit. Nurses will manage patients with cuffed/cuffless tracheostomies, total laryngectomies, carotid blow out precautions, and free flap patients. The typical nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5. Travelers are welcome, and those with a year of experience in a teaching facility will be considered. Weekend coverage is required every other weekend. The facility operates as a short-term acute care facility. It is a Magnet and teaching hospital, recognized as a Level I trauma center. Nurses will participate in interdisciplinary support, including IV teams, respiratory services, and social services. Special skills needed include wound care and telemetry monitoring. All travelers will float within their service line as required. RTO restrictions apply; a maximum of 7 days per contract is allowed.
