We are seeking a Lab Technician to join our team. This position is responsible for assembling mechanical test stands, electrical enclosures, cables, and harnesses used in testing and laboratory applications. Hours are on 2nd shift working from 3:30pm - 12:00am, Monday -Friday.


The Lab Technician will also assist with wire routing, equipment checkout, product delivery, test data collection, and the preparation of technical manuals, test procedures, and reports. This position is ideal for someone with a mechanical or electrical assembly background who is comfortable working from engineering drawings, schematics, and detailed work instructions.


Responsibilities

• Assemble mechanical test stands and related equipment.
• Build and wire electrical enclosures.
• Assemble electrical cables and harnesses.
• Route and install wiring in electrical control boxes.
• Operate data acquisition equipment during testing.
• Capture, organize, and compile test data.
• Assist with equipment assembly, checkout, and delivery of completed products.
• Assist with writing manual and automated test procedures.
• Assist with preparing technical reports and documentation.
• Read and follow engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, and work procedures.
• Use gages, soldering equipment, crimping tools, and other laboratory/shop equipment.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow established quality and safety procedures.

Requirements:

• 1+ year of related experience in a similar mechanical, electrical, assembly, laboratory, or manufacturing environment.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, sketches, schematics, and procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
• Good mechanical and/or electrical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training or experience with LEAN manufacturing principles.
• J-STD-001 soldering certification.
• Experience with LabVIEW.
• Previous experience with test equipment or data acquisition systems.
• Experience with electrical wiring, cable assembly, or harness assembly.

Work Environment


This position works primarily in a lab/shop environment and routinely involves:

• Job instructions and engineering drawings.
• Mechanical and electrical assembly.
• Gages and measuring equipment.
• Soldering equipment.
• Crimping tools.
• Electrical wiring and cable assembly.
• Test and data acquisition equipment.

This is largely a sedentary position; however, the role requires occasional lifting, bending, and standing. Candidates must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.

This position is subject to U.S. Export Control regulations. Candidates must meet the definition of a "U.S. Person" under 22 C.F.R. § 120.15, which includes U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees.


Ideal Candidate


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically or electrically inclined, and comfortable working from technical drawings and schematics. Experience with electrical assembly, test equipment, soldering, cable/harness assembly, or laboratory testing is highly desirable.
