Location: Clayton, NC 27520 Pay Rate: $39.00 - $40.00 / Hour Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

The Return to Work (RTW) Case Manager (RN) provides comprehensive medical case management services for US-based Grifols employees who experience occupational injuries or non-work-related medical absences. Utilizing medical expertise and detailed knowledge of workers' compensation regulations, the RN ensures injured workers receive timely, appropriate medical care to promote early, safe return to work and efficient claims resolution. This role serves as the functional lead for managing all workers' compensation cases and conducting the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA/ADAA) interactive process across manufacturing, plasma, and support operations.

Job Specifications:

• Manage all accepted, routine lost-time workers' compensation claims, overseeing medical care assessment and coordination from injury through case resolution.
• Work closely with claims adjusters, medical providers, and managers to coordinate appropriate medical rehabilitation and achieve return-to-work goals.
• Evaluate return-to-work fitness and assess biological risk and physical capabilities regarding human and product safety; partner with management to establish effective light-duty assignments.
• Lead and conduct medical accommodation determinations and the interactive process for employees under the ADA/ADAA in close collaboration with HR and management.
• Develop customized case management plans (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) and establish cost-effective medical strategies.
• Respond to on-site medical emergencies, serve as lead in determining immediate treatment needs, and coordinate medical return-to-work cases (exclusive of FMLA).
• Perform telephonic triage for injury events across US plasma center locations to establish appropriate levels of care.
• Provide direct nursing care for occupational and non-occupational injuries/illnesses via symptomatic treatment, first aid, emergency transport, and medical referrals.
• Create and maintain compliant Employee Medical Files, Industrial Hygiene Monitoring Records, Workers' Compensation carrier forms, disability records, and return-to-work notes while ensuring full confidentiality.
• Collaborate closely with the Staff Nurse RN to deliver integrated medical services across facilities.
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for all Grifols US-based operations.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum of 1 year of related experience for Bachelor's degree holders OR 3 years for Associate degree holders in workers' compensation case management, Occupational Health Nursing, medical assessment, or clinic/public health nursing.
• Active state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in North Carolina.
• Extensive knowledge and practical understanding of ADAA guidelines, workers' compensation regulations, and the interactive accommodation process.
• Knowledge of occupational health, CPR, emergency first aid, immunology, ergonomics, and OSHA requirements.
• Preferred: Certification via the American Board for Occupational Health Nurses (COHN or COHN-S) and/or Case Management certification.

Education Requirements:

• Graduation from an accredited Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program required.
