Job Summary

Join a dedicated team as a Registered Nurse in a Surgical Short Stay unit at an acute care hospital in Ithaca, New York. This unit primarily serves surgical patients undergoing procedures such as joint replacements, hip fractures, open abdominal surgeries, and neck/back surgeries, with some medical patient care.

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive direct patient and family-centered care, utilizing their full scope of practice. This role involves active participation in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of individualized care plans, fostering collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient and family support and comprehensive nursing care within the full scope of practice.
• Participate in the development, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of programs and services for patients, families, and the community.
• Conduct thorough patient observation, data collection, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patients’ physical, psychological, emotional, educational, and spiritual needs.
• Develop and manage individualized, ongoing plans of care.
• Work collaboratively as a member of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Assume Charge Nurse responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Demonstrated Charge Nurse experience.
