Staff Accountant

The Greenville Chamber of Commerce is looking for an Accountant who will be involved in the day-to-day accounting and financial record-keeping with a primary focus on managing accounts payable/receivable, account reconciliations, and specific internal reporting. Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Transaction Posting:Maintain the general ledger by recording financial transactions and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of entries. Accounts Payable and Receivable:Oversee the full accounts payable and receivable cycle, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliation. Grant Reporting Support:Assist with document preparation and ensure compliance with all grant requirements. Budgeting and Forecasting:Assist in budget preparation, financial forecasting, and financial analysis as needed. Month-End and Year-End Close:Ensure all assigned accounts are reconciled and closed properly at month-end and year-end. Annual Audit Support: Assist with the annual audit process, including preparing supporting documentation, reconciling accounts, and responding to audit requests as needed. Other Duties:Assist with ad-hoc financial tasks and reporting as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required. Proven experience as a Staff Accountant, Full Charge Bookkeeper or in a comparable role. Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations. Proficiency in Quickbooks Online and Excel. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive financial information. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
