CAD Drafter / Mechanical Drafter

Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Job Type: 6-Month Contract-to-Hire
Schedule: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday-Friday
Pay: $26-$36/hour

We are seeking a CAD Drafter / Mechanical Drafter to join a growing Mechanical Engineering team. This is a hands-on opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of custom packaging automation equipment .

The CAD Drafter will work closely with Senior Mechanical Engineers to take existing designs and concepts and create detailed, production-ready drawings for machine components, brackets, assemblies, and other mechanical parts.

Responsibilities

• Create and modify detailed mechanical drawings using SolidWorks
• Detail parts, brackets, assemblies, and machine components
• Make drawing revisions and corrections based on engineer feedback
• Create manufacturing drawings and BOMs
• Maintain accurate CAD files and revisions
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and assembly teams

Qualifications

• Mechanical CAD drafting/detailing experience
• SolidWorks experience required
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
• Strong attention to detail
• Comfortable taking direction and making revisions
• Manufacturing, OEM, automation, or machinery experience is a plus
• SolidWorks PDM experience is preferred

Packaging automation experience is not required. We are open to candidates from a variety of mechanical drafting and manufacturing backgrounds.
