Responsibilities Travel nationwide for 13 week assignments, providing flexibility to work in various settings. Assess the need for, develop, and deliver physical therapy programs to facilitate rehabilitation. Identify need for and make referrals to other disciplines to address comprehensive patient needs. Implement individualized therapy programs designed to restore, reinforce, and enhance performance. Instruct, educate and train patients and caregivers in skills essential for promoting independence and productivity. Direct activities to promote and maintain health. Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants, temporary licensees, students, and support personnel in accordance with state licensure requirements. Deliver rehab services efficiently, adhere to plan of care, department and patient schedules, and document services timely. Attend and contribute to patient care, staffing conferences and related meetings. Consult with rehabilitation team members to select therapeutic regimens appropriate for each patient. Adapt program and/or plan of care according to patient needs. Promote a safe environment and enforce elimination of fire and safety hazards. Order supplies and equipment as necessary. Clean, maintain, identify, and report repair needs for equipment. Ensure patients and families receive the highest quality service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere. Screen, examine, and evaluate patients, including history, systems review, and appropriate tests and measures; synthesize information and interpret findings to establish diagnosis, identify impairments, determine improvement level and time required, recognize precautions and design a plan of care. Develop appropriate treatment goals and methods in collaboration with patient and caregivers; implement plan and complete documentation. Apply therapeutic techniques including: therapeutic exercise, aerobic conditioning, balance coordination, agility training, body mechanics, postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength, power, endurance training, functional training, manual therapy, airway clearance techniques, integumentary repair and protection, use of electrotherapeutic, physical agent and mechanical modalities, design/fabricate/fit and/or apply adaptive devices, and train patients in use of adaptive devices such as orthotics and prosthetics. Select appropriate activities suited to individual's physical and mental capacity, intelligence level and interest. Instruct patients in skills and techniques required for mobility activities and evaluate progress, attitudes, and behavior related to rehabilitative potential. Perform routine reexaminations as needed to modify and progress plan of treatment. Perform other related duties as required. Qualifications Valid Physical Therapy license in the state(s) of practice, or proof of license and eligibility. Master's degree in Physical Therapy, or Master's degree in a Physical Therapy related field plus a Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy. Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy plus 5 years of progressively responsible PT experience. Availability to travel to and temporarily reside in locations outside of the therapist's primary home. Physical Therapy degree earned outside of the U.S. must be evaluated to be equivalent to a U.S. degree in Physical Therapy. Posted Salary Range: USD $55.00 - USD $70.00 /Hr. #J-18808-Ljbffr
