(CNA) Sr. Nursing Aide - Per Diem - CVC ICU

Payroll Title: NURSE AID SR PD Department: LJ SCVC 3A CVICU Hiring Pay Scale: $31.32 / Hour Worksite: Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center Appointment Type: Per Diem Appointment Percent: 20% Union: EX Contract Total Openings: 2 Work Schedule: Nights, 12-Hour Shifts, Sunday-Saturday Description Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the CNA supports the continuum of care by providing basic care and assistance with daily activities of daily living. Performs uncomplicated technical procedures such as EKG, participates in basic medical records coding and monitoring quality assurance through chart audits, utilizes technical equipment, manages basic patient inventory, assists with patient transport to other units and procedural areas, delivers laboratory specimens and blood products, assists with CPR during Code Blue, and cross trains to the role of Hospital Unit Secretary and Environmental Care Partner. The position requires initiative, ability to prioritize demands, and ability to work in a team environment, including training and evaluation of peers, scheduling, and assisting with administrative functions of the unit. Minimum Qualifications Must possess a valid California CNA Certificate. BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date. One year recent acute care CNA experience. Demonstrated ability to observe deviations from normal. Ability to function in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment and demonstrate professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to navigate multiple competing priorities and apply effective solutions. Adherence to UCSD Health Medical Center Standards of Performance and professionalism in attire, attitude, conversation, behavior, and attentiveness. Effective communication skills to build collaboration, encourage teamwork, and promote a positive inclusive workplace culture. Preferred Qualifications Previous acute care experience. Previous ICU experience. PCIS, UCSD Paging & Scheduling Systems proficiency. Knowledge of medical terminology or completion of medical terminology training. Bilingual: Spanish/English. Special Conditions Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment subject to a criminal background check and pre‑employment physical. Pay Transparency Annual Full Pay Range: $65,396 - $65,396 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $31.32. Factors in determining compensation include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications.
