Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)

We are currently seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for both experienced technicians and newly licensed graduates looking to start their careers in a nurturing and well-equipped general practice setting. An ideal candidate demonstrates a genuine interest in orthopedic surgery and a commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth.
As a Licensed Veterinary Technician, you will be an essential part of our patient care team. You'll assist in a variety of areas including routine wellness exams, diagnostics, dentistry, anesthesia monitoring, and client education. Our practice offers a strong mentorship culture, making this an excellent opportunity for newly licensed techs to build skills and confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians during physical exams, vaccinations, and outpatient procedures
- Perform and process laboratory tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, fecals, etc.)
- Monitor and manage anesthesia for surgical and dental procedures
- Take and process radiographs
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Educate clients on preventive care, post-treatment instructions, and home care
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure a clean, organized treatment area
Qualifications:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT/RVT/CVT) in New York State, or currently enrolled in an accredited veterinary technology program
- Strong interest in general practice and preventive care
- Eager to expand knowledge in veterinary orthopedic procedures and patient care.
- Excellent communication and client service skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and grow
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, supportive environment
