Emergency Medicine Physician

The Emergency Medicine Physician is a dedicated member of the M Health Fairview patient healthcare team who works in collaboration with other staff to provide comprehensive, high quality healthcare services to all patients in the Emergency Medicine service at the assigned Acute Care practice location. The scope of practice of each physician is defined through Fairview's Credentialing and Privileging Committees. The role of the Emergency Medicine Physician is to assess, maintain and improve the health condition of the patients assigned to the Emergency Medicine service and to collaborate and consult seamlessly with other key services such as Hospital Medicine.

Responsibilities:

• Provides evaluation and treatment of patients appropriate to the Emergency Medicine service
• Manages patient care through appropriate use of available resources
• Responsible to provide or coordinate communication between all parties involved in providing care to the patient
• Assures that timely, relevant, and appropriate information is provided to emergency room staff, consultants, patients and families
• Contributes to effective and efficient practice management and responsibilities
• Provides staffing support to the emergency medicine service through all hours of service (24/7/365)
• Supports emergency medicine service through timely documentation of the medical record and maintains adequate knowledge of billing policies to support billing for professional services
• Meets workload standards and clinical hours expectations for department

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of an accredited ACGME Emergency Medicine training program
• BC/BE with ABMS
• Licensed or ability to obtain Minnesota Board of Medical Practice Licensure
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota
• Meet threshold criteria / qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges

The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Positions with the same min/max are flat rate jobs based on 40 hours/week. Compensation plans based on production can allow for higher pay than the range posted.
