Cytologist (CYT)- Laboratory - Variable - PRN

Job Description Assumes the overall responsibility for the technical administration and operation of a laboratory area for cytology. Performing diagnostic testing for both GYN and NON-GYN PAP testing. Responsibilities
- Participates as a member of the Care Team to achieve business goals, Clinical/quality outcomes, and customer satisfaction.
- Provides assistance to team members as requested or necessary.
- Participates on committees/councils as requested/required.
- Communicates operational issues clearly and effectively within the team and outside the team as appropriate.
- Safeguards confidential information.
- Participates in performance improvement activities.
- Regular and timely attendance is required for this position.
- Communicates the patient and family health care needs to the appropriate health care provider.
- Calls all critical results to the appropriate health care provider in a timely manner.
- Communicates expectations to fellow employees and other hospital employees clearly.
- Performs diagnostic tests for interpretation and/ or therapeutic intervention by/ or at the request of a licensed practitioner.
- Performs cytology laboratory procedures to obtain data for diagnosis and treatment of disease or disease processes.
- Bachelor's Degree
- No experience is required directly out of school
- For supervisory positions must have at least 3 years of experience
