Our general maintenance and repair shop is looking for a new automotive technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who finds satisfaction in locating the source of a complaint and restoring it to proper function. Our shop is a teamwork environment - we pay hourly and help each other when extra hands are needed. We support our techs in further training and expanding skills, but we are looking for someone with tools and ASE certificates who can jump in and start working on day one. Compensation:$39 hourly DOE
Responsibilities:- Explain automotive systems issues to customers to ensure a clear, transparent repair process
- When needed, conduct routine maintenance such as checking fluids, rotating tires, replacing brake pads, and oil changes
- Establish processes for tracking diagnostics and system repairs, maintaining up-to-date manufacturer specifications, and more
- Examine all vehicle systems such as the air conditioning, engine, transmission, and brake systems with a step-by-step approach
- Operate diagnostic equipment to accurately determine the cause of malfunction codes with the vehicle’s integrated computer system
- When needed, conduct routine maintenance such as checking fluids, rotating tires, replacing brake pads, and oil changes
- Follow a checklist-based approach to comprehensively examine all vehicle systems, such as the engine, transmission, air conditioning, and brake systems
- Adhere to manufacturer specifications to maintain vehicle systems and ensure customer satisfaction
- Stellar customer service and communications skills are mandatory
- Must have completed a post-secondary training program in automotive service technology; associate degree a plus
- ASE certification or comparable standard service technician credential, such as SAE, is attractive
- GED or high school diploma is mandatory
- ASE certification required
