The Geriatric Mental Health Division of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry is inviting applications for a full-time position in the Department of Psychiatry in the Memory Care Program for a physician with expertise in Geriatric Psychiatry, Medicine or Neurology. There will be additional opportunities for support of teaching and scholarship around working with patients with cognitive impairments and their care partner. The position can carry a faculty rank of Senior Instructor or higher based on clinical experience or expertise. We are recruiting for a candidate with outstanding clinical and supervisory skills to join our Geriatric Mental Health Division as a member of our multidisciplinary team of clinicians. The Memory Care Program is part of the University of Rochester Medical Center's clinical enterprise, which extends throughout the Finger Lakes and Southern Tier regions.

The Memory Care Program consists of a team of neurologists, geriatric psychiatrists, a geriatrician, a neuropsychologist, a family and marriage therapist, nurses, and social workers. Together these clinicians help patients, and their families manage and cope with the many dimensions of the disease and phases of treatment, beginning with an early and accurate diagnosis. The team meets regularly, provides diagnostic and longitudinal follow-up and supportive care, and offers access to clinical trials and other cutting-edge treatments as appropriate.

Clinical responsibilities include initial assessments and follow up for this patient population through adherence to national guidelines for diagnosis and treatment and a multidisciplinary team paradigm. The physician will also be responsible for managing and supervising medical students, residents, and fellows.

The physician will be based at our outpatient clinic site in the city of Rochester.

There are also opportunities for research involving dementia, depression, and aging- related studies at the Center of Excellence for Alzheimer's Disease (CEAD).

The physician will have a faculty appointment with the University of Rochester, School of Medicine and Dentistry and a medical staff appointment at Strong Hospital. We encourage applicants with leadership skills and/or research interests in dementia care and geriatric mental health care to apply.

Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, annual CME allotment, and a generous benefits package through the University with a retirement program and tuition benefits.

Title Total Compensation Range

• Sr. Instructor $209,000 to $260,264

• Assistant Professor $221,350 to $287,611

• Associate Professor $243,200 to $315,271

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

· Board certified/ board eligible in their medical specialty

· Clinical experience in dementia care.

· Active NYS license prior to start

· Active DEA certification

The referenced pay range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the base range of compensation for this faculty position.
