These roles support a high-volume publishing program of approximately 30 thought leadership pieces per month. The Chief Editor owns editorial quality.
Role purpose The Chief Editor ensures each WSJ-formatted article is clear, differentiated, aligned with strategic priorities and global messaging, and ready for stakeholder review and publication. The role provides the editorial discipline needed to maintain quality and speed across a high-volume publishing schedule.
- Set and maintain editorial standards for clarity, voice, format and overall quality.
- Review and validate all WSJ-reformatted articles before BMC and stakeholder approval.
- Assess each article for tension, point of view, adherence to format, brand considerations and 5-point quality scoring criteria.
- Ensure content aligns with SteerCo priorities and market demands – including pressing timely topics.
- Guide and coordinate writers through editorial direction and recommendations for improvement.
- Use messaging and content formats consistently across the program.
