You'll play a critical role in developing the applications, automation frameworks, and test platforms that enable TE to deliver industry-leading active electric/optical connectivity solutions at scale.Job RequirementsWhat You'll EngineerSoftware Development & Automation• Engineering Software Solutions: Design, develop, and maintain software applications supporting Active Electric Cable/Active Copper Cable/Optical product development, manufacturing process development, testing, and automation initiatives.• Automation Platforms: Develop software for automated assembly systems, machine vision applications, robotics, motion control systems, and data acquisition platforms.• Data Systems & Analytics: Create applications and dashboards that collect, manage, visualize, and analyze manufacturing, test, and product performance data.• System Integration: Integrate software with laboratory equipment, industrial automation platforms, databases, vision systems, and enterprise applications.Product Development & Manufacturing• Test System Development: Design and implement software solutions for product validation, automated testing, data logging, and performance characterization.• Manufacturing Software Support: Develop applications that improve process control, equipment efficiency, traceability, and manufacturing quality.• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with optical, mechanical, electrical, process development, manufacturing, signal integrity and quality engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions that meet business and technical objectives.• Documentation: Develop software requirements, architecture documentation, validation protocols, user guides, technical specifications, and support documentation for deployed systems.What your background should look likeEssential Qualifications• Education: BS or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.• Experience: Minimum of 5- 8 years of experience developing software applications, automation solutions, industrial software, or engineering systems.• Programming Skills: Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Python, React, C#, C++, Java or similar.• Software Development Practices: Experience with version control systems such as Git (CLI), GitHub, GitLab, software testing, debugging, CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Jira and Confluence using Agile Software Development Lifecycle management.Core Technical Competencies• Application Development: Experience developing desktop, web-based, or engineering software applications.• Automation & Equipment Integration: Knowledge of industrial automation systems, BER Test equipment, manufacturing equipment integration.• Data Management: Experience working with databases, SQL, data acquisition systems, data analytics, and reporting tools.• Software Architecture: Understanding of object-oriented programming, software design principles, API development, and system integration methodologies.• Test & Validation: Experience developing automated test platforms, validation tools, and software verification methodologies.Preferred Qualifications• Experience developing customized software applications, automated test dashboards, and real-time visualization systems using Python and React frameworks• Experience with Automation frameworks such as PyTest, Hardware-in-the-loop testing and lab automation using BERTs, VNA, Pattern Generators, Power supplies• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and web services with heavy focus on UI/UX modernization• Strong understanding and experience with Data Analytics that includes log parsing, telemetry processing, performance dashboards, failure trend analysis, and predictive quality monitoring• Experience with Software Testing methodologies that include Unit testing, Sanity testing, Regression testing, System testing, Interoperability testing and Performance testing • Knowledge of interconnect technologies such as Active Electric Cable, Active Copper Cable, Active Optical Cable. • Knowledge of Signal Integrity fundamentals such as Bit Error Rate (BER), Crosstalk, Channel loss, Equalization techniques, Jitter analysis, PAM4/NRZ Signaling• Knowledge of Re-timer/Re-driver, CMIS management protocols, EEPROM firmware• Experience with AI assisted test generation, defect prediction, automated log analysis, LLM integration, and Agentic-AI based toolsProfessional Skills• Problem Solving: Strong analytical and creative approach to solving complex technical challenges involving software, equipment, and manufacturing systems.• Communication: Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to software developers, engineers, technicians, and business stakeholders.• Project Management: Experience managing multiple software development initiatives with competing priorities and deadlines.• Continuous Learning: Passion for learning emerging technologies, automation tools, software frameworks, and advanced manufacturing systems.
