Residential Living Specialist

Location: 1900 Old Lincoln Highway, Langhorne, PA 19047, USA Residential Living Specialist The Residential Living Specialist provides care and supervision to all assigned residents, ensuring a safe, healthy, secure, and pleasant environment that promotes and reinforces resident growth and development. The role assists in the design and implementation of Individual Recovery Plans and documents participant progress as they move through the service delivery system. The RLS advocates for resident growth toward independence in self‑care, daily living skills, socialization, and community living. Responsibilities Provide all assigned participants with their basic needs and assist with skill development in social support, food management, self‑care, personal hygiene, relapse prevention, medication management, stress management techniques, money management, public transportation utilization, and participation in meaningful and planned community activities. Ensure participants are transported to assigned programs, appointments, and/or destinations; may arrange for transportation and/or accompany participants to appointments. Administer medications in accordance with participants’ self‑medication plans and State/Agency medication administration regulations, inventory medications, and complete all appropriate forms. Qualifications A.A. degree in the social sciences or a health‑care related field and one year of relevant experience in the MH/MR field, or a high‑school diploma and two years experience in the mental health field, or any combination of experience, education or training that would provide the required knowledge, skill and ability. Demonstrated crisis intervention/prevention and de‑escalation skills. Good communication skills, both oral and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Driver’s license (duplicate mention, retained for completeness). Scope Ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, and bend, which may include direct intervention with participants. Assist participants with transferring from bed to chair, chair to shower, and other similar movements. Frequent talking and listening. May require crisis intervention in emergencies. Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills. May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather.
