Compensation

Mount Sinai South Nassau provides a salary range in good faith determination of potential compensation to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Department: Respiratory Therapy

Position Summary

Summary:
Respiratory Therapists perform diagnostic cardiopulmonary evaluations and respiration therapy treatments designed to treat patients with deficiencies and dysfunctions of the cardiopulmonary system. Their responsibilities include assessing, evaluating, diagnosing, and caring for patients with breathing disorders and are responsible for operating and maintaining ventilators/BiPAP. The Respiratory Therapist, working as part of an interdisciplinary team, collaborates, and coordinates patient care with members of other disciplines, including Physician's and Nursing staff.

Qualifications

Responsibilities:
Education Required
• Must complete in-house orientation program
• Graduate of AMA accredited Therapist program with a minimum 2 year AAS degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.



Experience And Skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Speaks, reads and writes English
• 1 year of clinical experience is preferred.
• Computer Proficiency.



License/Certifications
• NY State Respiratory Therapist License
• NBRC certification
• BLS
