This position is responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality, processing medical record requests, managing documentation, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations. Candidates should be comfortable working within EMR/EHR systems and handling high volumes of medical records with accuracy and professionalism. Key Responsibilities Process medical record requests while ensuring HIPAA compliance Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information Open, scan, organize, and file incoming mail and documentation Utilize Epic and other EMR/EHR systems to access and maintain records Provide customer service support to patients, providers, and internal staff Operate fax, copier, scanning, and document management equipment Verify and maintain accurate patient information and records Manage multiple priorities while meeting productivity and quality standards Follow established policies and procedures for release of information requests Required Skills & Experience Minimum 1 year of experience in a medical records, healthcare office, or related environment preferred Strong computer and technical skills Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel Ability to type at least 50 WPM Knowledge of medical terminology Strong verbal and written communication skills Experience multitasking in a fast-paced environment Ability to quickly learn new systems, processes, and equipment Strong customer service and problem-solving skills Understanding of HIPAA privacy laws and compliance standards Top Skills Must Haves: Medical Records Patient Services Customer Service Medical Terminology Data Entry Customer Support Epic EHR/EMR Systems Microsoft Office Nice-to-Have Skills: ICD-10 Knowledge Release of Information (ROI) Experience Healthcare Administration Experience Call Center Experience Health Information Management Experience Insurance Verification Experience Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00/hr.
