1st shift Stand-Up Forklift Operator Louisa Food Products, Inc. is searching for a Forklift Operator / Material Handler to work in our Warehouse for its first shift from 6:30am to 3:30pm. The individual in this position will perform a variety of duties associated with food processing assembling and packaging operations. This is a very fast paced position and it is working in a cold freezer storage area. Starting salary $21.00 per hour with the ability to move to $22.50 per hour in 1 year plus semi-annual bonuses. All Material Handlers will also be eligible for semi-annual bonuses after 1 year, as well as other bonus programs.Louisa offers competitive wages and bonuses. Louisa employees also have the opportunity to purchase products at a discounted rate.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Duties include, but will not be limited to: Receiving, storage, handling, and shipping a variety of products and ingredients. Supply Production Department with required materials/ingredients. Must maintain neat/clean storage areas where assigned. Job location may shift from dry goods storage to cooler to freezer storage. Must be prepared to be assigned and work in all areas of shipping/receiving/warehousing. It's very important to complete paperwork correctly in this position. Must be able to write and communicate in English. Some overtime may be required on short notice. It is very important for this position to be aware of teamwork.PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENTMust be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.Must be able to work with forklift, electric pallet "jacks", deep reach trucks, and hand "jacks".Physical functional test required. Lifting sometimes up to 80 lbs. maximum.Safety awareness is essential.Constant exposure to variable temperatures including very hot and very cold temperatures.Floors are wet and slippery, proper footwear must be worn.The plant is very noisy, company provided safety hearing plugs must be worn at all times.COMPETENCIESMakes sound decisions based on supervisor guidance.Works in an organized manner to meet daily goals.Able to accept feedback and modify behavior accordingly.Self-motivated and continuously looking to improve.Responsible for work done and focused on improving.Clearly communicates to others and actively listens.Builds partnerships for teamwork.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSOne (1) year of stand-up forklift experience.Must have good basic math skills.Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.HS Diploma/GED preferred but not required.Able to work in a fast-paced environment.Able to work independently or effectively in a team environment.Lifting sometimes up to 80 lbs. maximum. Post-employment physical functional test will be required.Must be detail oriented.Excellent punctuality and attendance is a must.
