About the Position

Job Title: Ultrasound Technologist Profession: Ultrasound Technologist Specialty: Breast Imaging Duration: 13 months Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Experience: 2 years preferred License: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer - Breast Specialty (RDMS (BR)) Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - One or more years of experience. - Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, and identify equipment and supplies. - Ability to verbally communicate and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations. - Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. - Ability to use computers and perform typing for documentation and accessing information. - Ability to lift, bend, and carry supplies and equipment, including heavy items. - Ability to walk and assist with transporting or ambulating patients. - Ability to push and pull equipment such as gurneys and portable devices. - Ability to navigate crowded and busy environments. - Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Description: The Ultrasound Technologist provides excellent customer service by performing ultrasound examinations under the direction of a physician for identification of abnormalities leading to patient diagnosis. Maintains competency in all clinical and technical functions as per the certification requirements. Ensures proper patient identification and order verification while preparing the patient for the exam. Performs exams per department protocol and reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy. Completes studies within acceptable time limits without compromising patient care or quality. Assists and instructs students and other technicians in exam protocols, procedures, positioning, and equipment. Provides appropriate patient education, ensures patient comfort, and addresses concerns. Practices appropriate infection control and sterile techniques. Understands and operates equipment and related information systems to ensure quality images. Keeps accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any adverse reactions. Follows protocols for medical necessity, coding, charging, and reporting equipment failures. Operates equipment and performs patient identification. Maintains documentation and provides customer service. Completes management reporting and performs vascular procedures. Maintains cleaning standards and applies imaging techniques. Demonstrates anatomical knowledge and prioritizes tasks effectively. Demonstrates effective communication skills and works independently. Works collaboratively in a team and responds to emergency situations. Evaluates images to ensure quality and accuracy.
