Job Title: Sr. System Engineer

Location: Burlington, MA (On-site)

The hourly rate for this position is expected to be between $47.07 - $58.85 per hour, depending on geographic location, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

Employment Type: Temporary, approximately 4 months (through December 2026)
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM

Job Summary:

• Support system development, integration, verification, and sustaining engineering activities for complex electromechanical devices
• Write and maintain system requirements and documentation using tools such as Helix or Jama
• Design and build test fixtures for board and subsystem validation
• Perform system integration testing and troubleshoot hardware/software/firmware interactions
• Develop system test protocols, test plans, and reports supporting verification and validation
• Manage engineering change orders and lifecycle updates through digital platforms
• Support risk management activities, including hazard analysis and FMEA updates
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, mechanical, quality, and regulatory teams to resolve system-level issues

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred
• 5+ years of systems engineering experience, ideally within the medical device industry
• Strong hands-on troubleshooting experience with complex electromechanical systems
• Experience with requirements management tools such as Helix or Jama
• Solid understanding of system verification and validation
• Familiarity with regulatory standards such as 60601-1, 60601-2, and 60601-1-6 preferred
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Detail-oriented with strong documentation discipline and analytical problem-solving abilities
