Location: Chesterton, Indiana Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite Salary: $65,000–$80,000

Position Overview

A growing organization is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting team in a hands-on role supporting daily accounting operations and financial reporting. This position is ideal for an analytical accounting professional with 1–3 years of experience who understands general ledger accounting, month-end close, bank reconciliations, and pricing.

The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable researching financial information, identifying discrepancies, and working across departments to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end close process, including journal entries, account analysis, and reconciliations.
• Perform bank reconciliations and research discrepancies to ensure accurate account balances.
• Assist with general ledger accounting, including posting journal entries and maintaining accurate account activity.
• Analyze pricing, costs, margins, and financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities.
• Support pricing analysis and help ensure accurate pricing information is maintained.
• Prepare account reconciliations and supporting schedules for monthly reporting.
• Research and resolve accounting discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with financial reporting and other accounting-related analysis as needed.
• Collaborate with internal departments to gather information and resolve accounting and pricing questions.
• Maintain accurate and organized accounting records and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

• Understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close.

• Experience with bank reconciliations and journal entries.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Understanding of pricing, costs, and financial analysis.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
