Now Hiring Cooks! Any experience with breakfast restaurants is a plus, but not required. We will train you to be part of our team and succeed in your position. With a positive attitude, hunger to grow and ability to move with a sense of urgency, anything is possible.


As a cook, you will create the food our customers love, not just pancakes but a wide variety of meals that keep them coming back for more. You will set up equipment, verify stock and maintain a clean and sanitary work area.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop and maintain professional functional working relationships with IHOP Team Members.
• Prepare food according to specifications set forth in the IHOP SOP manuals.
• Memorize and apply all IHOP-specialized galley terminology, plating, menu items, procedures, galley utensils, abbreviations and methodologies.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work station.
• Comply with all federal, state and local regulations as well as with the IHOP Safety Manual and SOP health, sanitation and safety guidelines.
• Comply with IHOP uniform and appearance standards per SOP guidelines.
• Perform other assignments or tasks as assigned by the General Manager, or acting Supervisor.

SKILLS NEEDED
• Ability to read and prepare all food recipes to IHOP specifications
• Ability to prepare food within our outlined ticket times
• Ability to read food tickets or receive verbal instruction
• Capable of using knives and other food preparation equipment
• Operate large volume cooking equipment like flat tops, deep fryers, stoves and dishwashers

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE:
6 months - 1 year of related experience and/or training equivalent.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing these duties, the Team Member is required to spend virtually their entire shift on their feet, with regular, prolonged standing and minimal seating.


The role requires continuous walking, navigating tight spaces, crowded dining rooms, and high-traffic kitchen corridors while moving quickly, pivoting safely, and balancing items. Team Members must regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, which heavily utilizes trunk rotation. Additionally, this position requires the ability to work safely in a high-stress restaurant atmosphere and a high-temperature kitchen environment near grills, ovens, and open flames

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must possess good communication skills to accurately interpret kitchen recipes, company training programs, and follow company safety guidelines. The role requires the ability to understand spoken English instructions clearly and collaborate effectively with teammates during fast-paced shifts. Additionally, they must read English proficiently enough to process guest food orders, handle ticket modifications, and maintain seamless team operations under pressure.
