This position offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, with rotational Saturday shifts, providing a stable and predictable work environment for professionals passionate about supporting diagnostic efforts and patient health.– Perform blood draws using straight and butterfly needles, ensuring patient comfort and sample integrity – Label specimens accurately, process and centrifuge samples, and prepare them for laboratory testing – Collect and store specimens such as blood, urine, or fecal samples according to established procedures – Explain venipuncture and specimen collection processes clearly and courteously to patients – Match laboratory requisition forms with specimen tubes, ensuring correct labeling, splitting, freezing, and processing as needed – Package specimens for transport, maintain samples at required temperatures, and adhere to transport protocols – Record maintenance data and decontaminate work areas according to safety standards – Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations, wear appropriate PPE, and attend annual training sessions – Address patient inquiries by reading laboratory results and providing professional assistance – Perform other related duties as assigned to support laboratory operations– Proven experience performing blood draws and specimen collection – Knowledge of laboratory specimen handling, labeling, and processing procedures – Ability to operate centrifuges and understand specimen storage requirements – Strong attention to detail for accurate specimen labeling and documentation – Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly and maintain patient comfort – Familiarity with OSHA and DEP safety regulations and PPE usage– Certification/licensure as a phlebotomist (preferred, or as required by state regulations) – High school diploma or equivalent minimum education requirement – Previous experience in a healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred – Ability to work Monday through Friday with rotational Saturday shifts – Prior training in specimen transport and cold chain procedures is a plus – Capable of standing for extended periods and performing repetitive tasks – Knowledge of laboratory information systems and requisition matchingElevate your career by joining a healthcare organization dedicated to precision and patient-centered care.
