Senior Technical Account Manager

What you’ll do As a Technical Account Manager (TAM) at Airwallex, you will serve as the primary technical advisor and “voice of the customer” for our most valued enterprise customers. In the Merchant Services team, TAMs ensure the success of key enterprise customers by guiding them through adoption and integration of Airwallex products, providing strategic guidance, addressing policy and project queries, and resolving operational challenges. You will actively engage at the account level, provide proactive recommendations, help plan launches, and support post go‑live ramping experiences. This role is based in San Francisco and requires working in our downtown office three days a week. Responsibilities Be the primary technical owner for a group of strategic enterprise clients. Deliver an elevated services and technical support experience to client portfolios. Build trusted relationships by becoming a subject matter expert on client businesses. Collaborate with commercial account managers to explore optimization and upsell opportunities. Analyze and improve client support experience, providing contextual insight on their experience with Airwallex products. Serve as an escalation point for break‑fix support and ad‑hoc technical questions. Support Quarterly Business Review (QBR) sessions, especially on product roadmap updates and technical performance metrics. Who you are We are looking for a technically savvy and sales‑oriented Technical Account Manager to partner with our most strategic enterprise customers, guiding them through post‑sales queries and highlighting opportunities to scale value. Candidates should meet the minimum qualifications; preferred qualifications are a plus but not mandatory. Minimum qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with strong academic achievements. At least 5 years of experience in engineering, technical support, or technical account management. Comfortable managing multiple changing priorities and meeting deadlines in an entrepreneurial environment. Proactive, consultative approach to customer and sales team requests, with strong listening skills. Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle and API architecture. Excellent oral and written communication; experience presenting to decision‑makers. Preferred qualifications Knowledge of the payments domain or financial services. Experience working with data to analyze transaction patterns and drive improvements. Strong organizational skills and self‑starting mindset. Experience integrating RESTful APIs into web applications.
