External Multimedia Designer

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Multimedia Designer support our federal customer in Hanover, MD (Remote). This is a temporary assignment scheduled to last 6-7 months.

The Multimedia Designer will support the development of cyber training courseware by creating graphics, videos, animations, audio recordings, and supporting documents. You'll work collaboratively with a diverse team of Instructional Designers, Subject Matter Experts, and Technical Editors to develop advanced cyber training solutions. This position is dependent upon funding continuing at current levels.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Plans, conceptualizes, and designs graphics that support learning content
• Provides design and layout solutions for Student Guides, Instructor Guides, and resource documents in collaboration with ISDs and Subject Matter Experts
• Works with project team to develop instructional and assessment materials including interactive course prototypes
• Writes, records, and edits professional video and audio recordings
• Plans and develops simple animations in support of lesson content
• Develops and provides guidance to project team on style guidelines and makes appropriate suggestions for where multimedia can be used effectively

Here's What You'll Need:

• Associates or bachelor's degree in Design, Media Production or related discipline from a four-year College/University; work experience in that matches the requirements of the position in lieu of degree
• Minimum 3 years experience in video production and editing
• At least 5 years of experience with graphic and multimedia design
• Must have proven skills with the Adobe Creative Suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro, Audition, and Acrobat
• Ability to design and construct long form documents using Adobe InDesign
• Experience recording and editing audio and video
• Experience designing and optimizing templates in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to take complex information and present it in a simple and understandable manner
• Strong knowledge of animation concepts with the ability to adapt to using difference tools for creating animations
• Ability to develop graphic style guidelines and ensure all project deliverables adhere to those guidelines
• Professional graphic design experience with a portfolio of example work
• Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

• U.S. citizenship required.

Desired Skills:

• Experience developing interactive course content using tools such as Lectora and Articulate Storyline
• Experience configuring and testing courses in a learning management system.
• Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
• Academic/training industry experience

The base salary range for this position is$85,000 to $110,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
