AP Specialist

Kforce's client in Farmington, CT is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support invoice processing, vendor payments, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions, maintaining vendor records, and supporting compliance with company policies and internal controls. The ideal candidate has experience in high-volume AP environments and strong knowledge of invoice processing and accounting procedures. Key Responsibilities: Accounts Payable Processing:

• Receive, review, and process vendor invoices accurately and timely
• Match invoices to purchase orders, packing slips, and approval documentation
• Verify pricing, quantities, taxes, account coding, and supporting information
• Process invoices in the accounting system and maintain accurate transaction records
• Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and credit card payments
• Reconcile vendor statements and research outstanding balances or discrepancies
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve invoice and payment issues promptly
• Maintain vendor master records, W-9 documentation, and vendor onboarding information
• Monitor accounts payable aging and assist with cash flow planning activities
• Support month-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, and reporting

• Ensure compliance with company accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Maintain organized AP documentation and records for audit purposes
• Support internal and external audit requests by providing schedules and supporting documentation
• Assist with reporting and analysis related to accounts payable activities
• Identify opportunities to improve AP processes and increase operational efficiency
• 2+ years of Accounts Payable experience
• Experience processing high-volume invoices
• Strong understanding of invoice matching, vendor reconciliations, and payment processing
• Experience working with Costpoint or OnBase required
• Knowledge of accounts payable procedures and accounting principles
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
• Experience supporting month-end close activities
• Experience with ACH payments, credit card processing, and vendor maintenance
