As an Unarmed Security Officer, you will be part of a highly trained security team that supports critical facilities and infrastructure, public venues that required an enhanced presence and personal protective services. Security personnel are to be certified and trained and will be assigned a variety of standing, sitting and walking posts.

May be required to perform emergency duties which require physical exertion such as: standing or walking for an entire shift, climbing stairs, lifting, carrying up to 50lbs. and running.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and reporting on activities on site, ensuring the safety of employees, visitors, and property.
• Enforcing rules, regulations, and directives related to personnel, visitors, and premises.
• Controlling access to the facility and assisting visitors as necessary.
• Inspecting inbound/outbound packages and monitoring vehicle movements, entrances, and exits.
• Conducting foot or vehicle patrols, identifying unsafe conditions or security violations, and ensuring a secure environment.
• Writing reports and logs to document incidents and activities accurately.
• Responding to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, hazardous materials, or weather-related events in accordance with procedures.
• Protecting evidence and securing the scene of incidents during investigations.
• Maintaining CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Acting ethically, professionally, and responsibly at all times.

Work Environment and Schedule

• Job operates in client sites which could be indoors, outdoors or both, depending on assignment.
• Position may require prolonged standing and walking, in the performance of daily security activities.
• The role may require the ability to remain standing at a fixed post for extended periods of time with limited opportunities to sit, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• The role may require the ability to perform continuous foot patrols for long distances while maintaining situational awareness, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• The position may require the ability to lift and carry up to 30-50 pounds safely and repeatedly
• The role may require the ability to work at elevated heights, including safely ascending and descending ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• The role may require the ability to respond rapidly to incidents, which may involve quick movement, prolonged standing, or rapid changes in direction, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• The position may require the ability to drive company or client vehicles for long periods of time when assigned
• The role may require the ability to safely operate golf carts or similar utility vehicles
• Some assignments may require bicycle patrol for long periods of time.
• The position may include other physically demanding tasks as required by the post e.g., restraining individuals, breaking seals on semitrailers, opening secured containers, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications

Qualifications

* Minimum of a high school diploma or its equivalent. Military or police service can be accepted in lieu of educational experience. Any deviations from the minimum requirement must meet the approval of General Motors Global Security.

* Maintains any applicable licensing and/or certification requirements for security officers.

- Obtain a State Drivers License

* Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.

* Pass a physical examination.

* As permitted by local law, must pass a background investigation along with a drug and alcohol-screening test.

* Ability to maintain professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances.

* Courteous telephone manner.

* Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.

* Good organizational skills.

* Knowledge of multiple languages is beneficial but not required.

* Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills.

* Ability to physically respond to all emergency situations and act in a decisive manner.

* Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.

* Demonstrates understanding of Microsoft Office programs including Word and Excel.
