Warehouse Material Handler Navigator - 2nd Shift

Material Handler NavigatorIn addition to day-to-day responsibilities as a Material Handler, this position will serve as a lead trainer and mentor to fully acclimate team members to U.S. AutoForce's culture, job responsibilities and safety regulations. The MH4- Navigator will be assigned lead responsibilities within the warehouse and will serve as a lead for other Material Handlers, including fostering and demonstrating U.S. Venture's differentiating values that contribute towards a great workplace.Job ResponsibilitiesNavigator & TrainingEstablish mentor relationship with new hires and assist with onboarding, total reward/benefit programs and toolsSupport new hires through onboarding phase including familiarizing routine environment and standard operating procedures in the warehouseAct as a subject matter expert for warehouse process and best practicesServe as a culture ambassador, safety advocate and exhibit U.S. Venture's values in actionExhibit and practice positive communications and team-building skillsDevelop and conduct regularly scheduled Safety meetings within warehouseSupports the safety programs to ensure compliance with policies and regulatory requirements. Maintain a safe working environment for all associates.Material HandlerAct as a role model for excellent customer service and communicationMotivate and encourage team members through positive communication and feedback.Operate power equipment, including powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and high reach liftsLead cycle counting and maintaining the most up to date, efficient methods of inventory control availableAdjust and monitor cycle counts, e-commerce and returns, assisting in loss prevention best practicesSupport the maintenance of powered industrial vehicles (PIV).Follow up on customer shortages and errorsInspect merchandise for new warranty and coreProvide service to sales staff and customersRecommend customer credit for returned merchandiseReturn product to proper vendorsAssists with process improvement initiatives.Spot semi-trailers for daily loading line-upsWork as a backup driver as assigned or directedInventory controlReceiving: Check in product completely and accuratelyStock products and process returns properlyReturns: Inspect and physically count return merchandise assuring it is in resalable condition in order to give a "Quality Minded" reputationLoading: Load trucks using good judgment regarding use of space and product safetyMay perform counter or dispatch dutiesPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be qualified as to visual, auditory, physical, and mental ability to operate equipment safely with or without reasonable accommodation. The employee must frequently lift products weighing up to approximately 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 80 pounds. Occasionally exert a pushing force up to 40 pounds. Handling of commercial tires (e.g., rolling, destacking, team lifting) conduct team lifts or use mechanical equipment. Protective equipment required: steel or composite toe boots, safety vest, safety harness, seatbelt, SRL (self-retracting lifeline). All equipment is provided by U.S. AutoForce except for steel / composite toe boots. All team members must be able to adhere with safety and manufacture guidelines for compliant use of all protective equipment.Work environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Fumes associated with tires and occasionally car parts and lubricants prevalent.Qualifications4 years prior experience in warehouse, inventory control or related field, or equivalent training18 years of ageA valid driver's license and good driving record, as neededHigh school education or equivalentAbility to supervise or lead othersOutstanding organizational skillsAble to process a large volume of paperwork with good attention to detailsExcellent communication skills and ability to work with a variety of personalitiesCreative problem solverExcellent math skills and understanding of basic accounting methodsComputer literacy a plusGood memory and able to work accurately with lengthy part numbersBasic reading skills requiredAbove average scanning accuracyAbility to follow directions and safe operating proceduresNeat and well organizedAbility to lift up to 80 pounds depending on the location, and work at heights of 20 feet on a regular basisAbility to push and/or roll tires up to 400 poundsAbility to be trained and use powered industrial trucks (forklifts) and high reach liftsWork on his/her feet for extended periods of timeWilling to work overtime as neededSuccessfully pass a pre-employment drug test (do not test for THC / marijuana)
