Temporal Solution Architect

Role: Temporal Architect / Solutions Architect.

  • 10+ years of application/platform architecture experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in distributed systems, workflow orchestration, cloud-native platforms, or Temporal-aligned architecture.
  • Strong architecture experience with Temporal.io.
  • Experience in workflow design, activity design, task queues, workers, retries, timeouts, schedules, signals, queries, and versioning.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems architecture and design principles.
  • Experience with resilient microservices and event-driven architecture.
  • Knowledge of failure handling, idempotency, consistency, and long-running transactions.
  • Hands-on experience building prototypes using Java, Golang, TypeScript, Python, C#, or PHP.
  • Experience guiding application fitment and architecture evaluations for Temporal adoption.
  • Strong knowledge of production readiness, including reliability, security, performance, scalability, operations, cost management, release management, and operational support.
  • Experience with at least one major cloud platform.
  • Ability to compare Temporal with alternative workflow technologies and architectural patterns.
  • Experience with REST APIs, gRPC, service integration, and messaging/event platforms.
  • Experience with CI/CD, containerization, Kubernetes, observability, monitoring, alerting, and logging.
  • Experience conducting architecture workshops, whiteboarding sessions, code reviews, design reviews, and technical risk assessments.
  • Strong technical communication, presentation, documentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with legacy BPMS/workflow modernization and migration.
  • Exposure to Pega, Appian, IBM BPM/Savvion, Camunda, or similar BPM/workflow platforms.
  • Experience supporting presales, proposal defense, POCs, estimation, and solution design.
  • Client-facing consulting experience.
  • Experience with onsite-offshore coordination.
  • Experience in stakeholder management and enterprise architecture governance.
  • Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
  • Knowledge of Saga and compensation patterns.
  • Knowledge of platform engineering and developer enablement.
  • Experience creating reusable architecture assets and accelerators.
  • Ability to collaborate with developers, business analysts, QA, DevOps/SRE, platform teams, enterprise architects, and customer leadership.
  • Positive attitude, ownership, teamwork, and adaptability.
  • Engineering Graduate/Post-Graduate (Computer Science preferred) or MCA.
  • Strong background in software development, distributed systems, cloud architecture, and technical consulting.
  • Temporal certification or training is an added advantage.
  • Open-source contribution is an added advantage.
  • Cloud certification is an added advantage.
  • Hands-on experience with Temporal Cloud is an added advantage.
  • Assess customer applications and processes for Temporal adoption, modernization, or migration.
  • Define end-to-end Temporal architecture.
  • Design workflow/activity models, worker topology, task queues, integration patterns, resiliency, and operational guardrails.
  • Educate customers and internal engineering teams on Temporal and Temporal Cloud.
  • Build prototypes and POCs using supported Temporal SDK languages.
  • Provide design, development, deployment, and code review guidance.
  • Define production readiness covering reliability, observability, security, performance, scaling, cost, operations, incident handling, and release/versioning.
  • Support proposal solutioning, estimation, technical risk analysis, migration planning, and defense workshops.
  • Collaborate with sales, delivery, enterprise architecture, DevOps/SRE, QA, and platform teams.
  • Develop adoption roadmaps and implementation plans.
  • Create reusable reference architectures, implementation standards, accelerators, enablement materials, and knowledge repositories.
  • Identify adoption blockers and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Guide teams toward stable production deployments.
  • Prepare architecture documents, presentations, whiteboarding sessions, status updates, and executive-ready solution summaries.
