RN Wound Care

The Wound Care Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating wound care for outpatients. The Wound Care Nurse is involved in the chronic and rehabilitative care of persons with wounds. This position reports to the Program Manager and operates within established organizational policies and procedures. The nurse will treat chronic patients with wounds that are difficult to heal. We offer the most current and evidence-based treatments in wound care. The clinic volume ranges from 20 to 35 patients per day, with 3 to 4 nurses and 1 to 2 providers. The charting system used is Epic. Rotating shifts are not required; outpatient clinic hours are consistent.

Experience: Minimum of 1 year required License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA BLS Certification; Certification in Wound Care Nursing strongly preferred Must-Have: - Experience in assessing and monitoring wounds. - Skills in measuring, cleaning, and bandaging wounds. - Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the patient care team. - Knowledge of educating patients and caretakers on wound care, infection prevention, and pressure ulcer care. - Ability to coordinate DME and VNA services.
