Sr Business Strategy Manager

RWE Americas, LLC – Full‑time, permanent – Chicago, IL; Austin, TX Role Overview The Business Strategy team, part of the broader Strategy department, shapes the direction and growth of the company. Team leads annual strategy reviews, coordinates implementation of strategic initiatives with business units, and leads special initiatives for the Executive Leadership Team. Responsibilities Drive key workstreams in the Strategy Review process, producing solid analyses and actionable recommendations on business models, market prioritization, pipeline gaps, growth modes, capabilities, competitive positioning, and business cases. Coordinate and drive strategy implementation projects, working closely with business units to ensure alignment and execution. Support, project‑manage, or lead ad‑hoc strategic initiatives on behalf of the ELT (e.g., culture activation efforts, corporate acquisition or JV target scouting aligned with strategy). Define, prioritize, and lead transformation initiatives, collaborating with business units, assessing related business cases and supporting change management. Track company KPIs and prepare quarterly strategic performance reports for top management. Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging trends and innovations (including AI) and recommend integration into business strategies. Foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support strategic initiatives. Coordinate and support executive‑level internal and external meetings (e.g., with board, investors). Requirements & Experience Bachelor’s degree in STEM, business, or other relevant fields. Minimum 7years of relevant professional experience in the power industry, strategy, management consulting, or related business roles. Strong knowledge in corporate strategy, clean energy and utility industry, U.S. power markets/transmission grid, renewable project development, and clean energy technologies. Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and business acumen. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Strong organization and project‑management skills; highly independent. Demonstrated leadership skills, influencing without formal authority. High standards for quality and excellence with a pragmatic approach. Strong impact orientation across activities. Experience leading organizational or operational transformation efforts, including workflow redesign, business‑case development, change‑management support, and measurable outcomes. Ability to challenge the status quo and generate new ideas. Motivated, self‑starter, reliable, collaborative, team‑oriented, adaptable, high‑integrity, self‑reflective, and able to learn from feedback. Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Office‑based role with some travel and visits to other RWE Americas offices and field locations. Physical ability to sit, walk, or stand for extended periods. Compensation & Benefits Pay range: $160,000–$200,000 per year (Illinois).
