• Serve as the  Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)and oversee the day-to-day operations of the pharmacy.

• Ensure the pharmacy operates in compliance with  New Jersey Board of Pharmacy requirements and all applicable federal and state laws.

• Maintain appropriate pharmacy policies, procedures, records, and documentation.

• Supervise, train, and manage pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other pharmacy staff.

• Verify and dispense prescriptions accurately and safely in accordance with applicable laws and professional standards.

• Review prescriptions for appropriate drug selection, dosing, interactions, allergies, contraindications, and other potential medication-related issues.

• Provide professional counseling and medication-related information to patients and healthcare providers.

• Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, storage, expiration-date monitoring, and appropriate handling of medications.

• Maintain appropriate security, storage, documentation, and accountability for  controlled substances .

• Ensure compliance with prescription processing, labeling, recordkeeping, and quality-control requirements.

• Develop and implement procedures to promote patient safety and reduce medication errors.

• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare professionals regarding medication therapy when appropriate.

• Monitor pharmacy workflow and staffing to ensure efficient and timely prescription services.

• Handle pharmacy audits, inspections, and regulatory inquiries and maintain required documentation.

• Investigate and appropriately address medication errors, complaints, and quality issues.

• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy requirements.

• Stay current with changes in pharmacy laws, regulations, clinical standards, and best practices.

• Perform other duties necessary for the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of the pharmacy.
