The Judge Group is seeking a Project Engineer in Murfreesboro, TN area! The Project Engineer manages capital engineering projects within the processing sector of the facility. This role owns the full project lifecycle—from initial specification design through installation, commissioning, and final handover to production.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of capital engineering projects from concept through commissioning, startup, validation, and final handoff, ensuring projects meet scope, schedule, budget, and performance objectives.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to support ongoing plant operations while successfully executing project deliverables and achieving long-term business objectives.
  • Develop technical specifications and engineering solutions for processing equipment and systems, including tanks, pumps, valves, heat exchangers, automation controls, and utility infrastructure.
  • Manage equipment procurement and supplier selection activities, including RFQ development, bid evaluations, contract negotiations, and vendor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and startup activities, including automation validation, utility integration, process verification, and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT).
  • Lead production trials, raw material validation, and new process implementation efforts in partnership with suppliers and R&D teams to ensure operational readiness and project success.
  • Manage project budgets, capital expenditure approvals, purchase orders, forecasting, variance reporting, and change management to maintain financial accountability.
  • Establish and maintain project schedules, track key milestones, facilitate stakeholder communications, and implement project management best practices to ensure successful execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives by evaluating equipment performance, capacity constraints, and process inefficiencies, implementing solutions that improve reliability, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, environmental, and regulatory requirements while maintaining accurate project documentation and promoting a culture of operational excellence.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD / AutoCAD LT
  • Strong foundation in process engineering principles, fluid dynamics, and automated manufacturing systems
  • Proven ability to manage complex timelines, prioritize competing deliverables, and execute budgets
