Instrument Technician

We are seeking an Instrument Technician responsible for the decontamination, inspection, assembly, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience reprocessing surgical instruments while ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards, quality guidelines, and departmental procedures to support safe patient care. Key Responsibilities Reprocess surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment in accordance with established procedures. Clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments for clinical use. Inspect instruments for cleanliness, functionality, and proper assembly. Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment according to established protocols. Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization and instrument processing activities. Ensure compliance with infection prevention, safety, and quality standards. Monitor sterilization processes and verify appropriate sterilization parameters. Organize, package, and distribute sterile instruments and supplies. Identify damaged or malfunctioning instruments and coordinate repair or replacement. Maintain inventory of surgical instruments and sterile processing supplies. Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure instrument availability for surgical procedures. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Required Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of recent experience as an Instrument Technician or in a sterile processing role. Experience reprocessing surgical instruments and reusable medical equipment. Knowledge of sterile processing, decontamination, sterilization, and infection prevention practices. Experience operating sterilization and decontamination equipment. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to maintain accurate documentation and records. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
