Clinical Nurse Coordinator Emergency Room

Mission Health, a leading healthcare provider based in Asheville, NC, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Emergency Room to support our mission of delivering advanced, compassionate care to the community. In this role, you will function as both a clinical expert and a frontline leader, coordinating patient flow, ensuring high standards of evidence‑based nursing practice, and supporting the daily operations of a fast‑paced emergency department. Responsibilities Coordinate patient flow, triage, and acuity‑based assignments, and provide direct patient care. Mentor and coach nursing staff, assist with onboarding and competency validation, and model effective communication, teamwork, and professionalism. Monitor quality metrics and support performance‑improvement initiatives. Assist with staffing and scheduling, ensuring adherence to regulatory and organizational policies. Participate in emergency preparedness and coordinate responses to critical incidents. Advocate for best practices in pain management, sepsis recognition, stroke and cardiac protocols, and trauma care. Serve as a resource for complex clinical decision‑making and support staff during high‑volume or high‑acuity situations. This position requires strong critical‑thinking skills, confidence in rapid assessment and intervention, and the ability to remain calm and organized under pressure.
