Setting up, maintaining, and breaking down your workstation according to company standards. Following standardized recipes, production records, menus, portion sizes, and quality standards. Preparing a variety of meats, fish, poultry, and other menu items using techniques such as roasting, broiling, baking, frying, steaming, and stewing. Safely operating a variety of smallwares and large kitchen equipment. Maintaining a clean and organized workstation, storage areas, tools, equipment, and floors throughout the shift. Properly disassembling and assembling kitchen equipment and components for cleaning. Identifying food safety hazards, assessing risks, and promptly communicating concerns or maintenance issues to leadership. Supporting and providing direction to Kitchen Curators to help maintain quality, teamwork, and guest satisfaction. Helping control food waste and maintain food costs through proper preparation, portioning, and product handling. Maintaining proper product rotation, temperatures, storage, cooling, and food‑handling procedures. Following established food preparation, safety, and sanitation procedures and helping reinforce those standards with fellow Curators. Supporting training and retraining in food preparation, safety, and sanitation practices. Responding professionally to questions and requests while helping provide guests with excellent food and service. Working independently, taking initiative, and stepping in to support the team wherever needed. We’re excited to have you join us because... You understand that consistency and quality are essential in a successful culinary operation. You have previous professional food preparation experience and are ready to continue developing your culinary skills. You can read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations necessary for food preparation. You can accurately follow recipes and maintain production records. You are comfortable weighing and measuring ingredients. You can maintain food quality and consistency during high-volume service and changing staffing levels. You are adaptable and able to respond positively to changes in menus, staffing, procedures, and business needs. You can learn and retain new information quickly and apply it in a fast‑paced kitchen environment. You have strong knife skills and understand how to safely operate kitchen equipment. You can provide direction and support to fellow Kitchen Curators while maintaining a respectful and collaborative environment. You work well independently, demonstrate initiative, and take pride in getting the job done. You understand that a successful kitchen team supports one another and works together to create memorable guest experiences. Education and Experience One year of previous food preparation or professional kitchen experience required. Previous fine dining, luxury hotel, restaurant, or upscale hospitality experience preferred. Ability to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations. Ability to follow standardized recipes, menus, production records, and written and verbal instructions. Ability to accurately weigh and measure ingredients. Strong understanding of food preparation, food safety, sanitation, and proper food‑handling procedures. Good knife skills and the ability to safely operate a variety of kitchen equipment. Ability to maintain consistent food quality during periods of high business volume or staffing challenges. Ability to adapt to changing situations, staffing levels, procedures, and business needs. Ability to learn and retain a large amount of information in a short period of time. Ability to provide support and direction to other Kitchen Curators when needed. Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and contribute positively to a team environment. Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed based on business needs. Work Environment and Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work on hard surfaces for up to eight hours during a shift. Ability to walk, bend, stoop, reach, and move throughout the kitchen during food preparation and service. Ability to lift and pull boxes, pans, trays, and other items weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to work in an environment with varying levels of heat and noise depending on business volume. Ability to work safely around wet floors, heavy‑duty cutlery, cooking equipment, hot surfaces, and other common kitchen hazards. Ability to safely handle food, kitchen equipment, cleaning supplies, and other materials according to established safety procedures. Ability to maintain professionalism, focus, and attention to detail during high‑volume service periods. Must wear closed‑toe, non‑canvas, non‑skid‑soled shoes while working.
