SugarBird is a fast-casual restaurant concept based in Pittsburgh’s North Shore.  The company specializes in fried chicken, donuts, and dessert-inspired menu items, blending sweet and savory flavors into indulgent, crowd-pleasing combinations. JOB POSITION DESCRIPTION:

SugarBird is seeking motivated and reliable Back of House (BOH) team members to support kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This role works closely with the expediter station to help coordinate and prepare food and beverage orders for timely service, while also assisting with hands-on food and drink preparation and general prep work to keep the kitchen organized and service-ready. Team members will gain experience across multiple areas, including the dessert and ice cream station, and may assist with fulfilling beverage orders through the beer draft service window during peak hours and large events. The ideal candidate is a strong team player who can multitask, stay organized under pressure, and maintain quality and cleanliness standards while contributing to an efficient and energetic BOH environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES/QUALIFICATIONS:

• Greet customers in a friendly, professional manner and accurately take orders.
• Operate cash registers and process cash, credit card, and mobile payments.
• Prepare and assemble food and beverage items, including fried foods, ice cream, donuts, and drinks, following company recipes and standards.
• Package dine-in, takeout, and delivery orders accurately while ensuring food quality, freshness, and presentation.
• Restock food, beverages, condiments, and supplies throughout each shift.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and clean equipment, counters, fryers, grills, and food preparation areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures as assigned.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations during busy periods.
• Address customer concerns professionally and notify management when necessary.
• Thrive in a fast-paced environment while multitasking and staying organized.
• Demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
• Maintain availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events- Late night Close
• Ability to carry at least 30 lbs.
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to reach, bend, squat and lift while on the shift
• Six months of full-service restaurant experience preferred
• High School Diploma/ GED
• Able to multitask and organize
