Carlsbad, NM | Acute Care (Medical-Surgical Inpatient)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Days | 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM | 13 Weeks | Floating and census flex on-call may be required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide general medical-surgical inpatient nursing care in a unit with a patient ratio of 1:6
• Care for adult patients and occasional non-critical pediatric patients on the floor
• Utilize the MedHost EMR system for documentation and patient management
• Participate in census flex on-call as needed prior to the start of a scheduled shift when census is low
• Fingerprinting is required for all travelers working in New Mexico — submitting agencies must be registered with the state of New Mexico

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required
• Submitting agency must be registered with the state of New Mexico to facilitate the required fingerprinting process

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification preferred
• PALS certification preferred
• Experience with MedHost EMR
• Comfort working with occasional non-critical pediatric patients in a general med-surg setting
