Job Summary

The Licensed Therapist provides individual, couples, family, and group counseling services to first responders, veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. The therapist delivers evidence-based, trauma-informed care to address mental health concerns including PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, substance use, stress, and relationship challenges. This position collaborates with multidisciplinary teams and community partners to promote resilience, recovery, and overall wellness.

Essential Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive mental health assessments and develop individualized treatment plans.

• Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy to veterans, first responders, and their families.

• Facilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups.

• Utilize trauma-informed and culturally responsive approaches that recognize the unique experiences of military personnel and first responders.

• Address concerns including PTSD, anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, substance use, moral injury, and occupational stress.

• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with ethical, legal, and organizational standards.

• Collaborate with physicians, psychiatrists, case managers, peer support specialists, and community providers to coordinate care.

• Conduct crisis assessments, safety planning, and appropriate referrals when needed.

• Educate clients and families on coping skills, resilience, stress management, and available community resources.

• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.

• Current state licensure (e.g., LPC, LMHC, LCSW, LICSW, LMFT, or Psychologist) or eligibility for licensure.

• Experience providing therapy to trauma-exposed populations preferred.

• Knowledge of military culture and the unique needs of veterans and first responders is strongly preferred.

• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and documentation skills.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Training in evidence-based trauma treatments such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Prolonged Exposure (PE)

  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

• Experience with crisis intervention and suicide risk assessment.

• Familiarity with veteran and first responder support systems and community resources.

• Certification in trauma-informed care or military behavioral health is a plus.
