Position: Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C)

Location: Seattle, WA

Shift Details

• Schedule: Day Shift, 5 days a week (Monday - Friday)
• Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
• No weekends or on-call duties required

Job Description

This position is for a Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) who will work in a Pulmonary Clinic setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in an adult outpatient pulmonary clinic. The clinic is open to both local and non-local candidates, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) certification is required; Medical Assistant-Registered (MA-R) will not be accepted.
• Minimum of 6 months experience as a Medical Assistant; 1 year preferred in an adult outpatient/pulmonary clinic.
• Familiarity with charting systems, specifically EPIC, is required.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record vital signs including height, weight, and pulse oximetry.
• Prepare patients for examinations and document medical history, medications, and allergies.
• Assist with procedures such as nebulizer treatments and administer immunizations or intramuscular injections.
• Perform specimen collection and labeling, including sputum samples.
• Conduct laboratory tests like strep testing.
• Handle office duties including authorization forms, chart preparation, pharmacy calls, and patient refill requests.
• Stock clinic supplies and ensure the workspace remains organized.
• Communicate with patients effectively and facilitate follow-up phone calls.

Additional Information

• All candidates must be prepared to commit to working during 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
• Initial orientation will require 24 hours.
• A collaborative team environment with interdisciplinary support.

Key Skills Required: Administering medication, administering TB tests, patient rooming, pulmonary procedures, vital signs monitoring, and effective communication skills.
