Resale is exploding, and so is fraud. Sellers on TikTok Shop, Whatnot, and eBay Live are building real businesses in a market where buyers have been burned by fakes. Legitmark makes trust visible — and your job is to make that story impossible to ignore. We're hiring a Head of Marketing as our first dedicated marketing leader. To be direct about what that means: there is no team to inherit and no playbook to follow. For the foreseeable future, you'll do the work yourself — writing the positioning, running the campaigns, and building the playbooks — while laying the foundation for the team you'll eventually hire. If you're looking to set strategy and delegate, this isn't the right role. If you want to build the engine with your own hands and then scale it, it is. You'll work directly with the founders and alongside Partnerships, Product, and Customer Experience to align what we say with what we ship. This role is remote (US-based), with a preference for candidates in or near New York.

In this role, you'll:

• Own Legitmark's brand: positioning, voice, and a narrative that makes us the definitive name for trust in resale
• Grow seller-driven adoption — turn existing sellers into advocates and convert their reach into new accounts, especially across live and social commerce
• Build and own the marketing pipeline: define the metrics, run the experiments, and be accountable for what marketing contributes to growth
• Arm the partnerships team with the product marketing that closes deals: launches, case studies, and enablement that reflect how sellers actually buy
• Decide what to build in-house versus contract out, and make the first marketing hires when the engine proves repeatable

Your first 90 days

• Day 30: First campaign live. You've met our top sellers and partners, audited what exists, and shipped something measurable.
• Day 60: Core narrative defined. Positioning, messaging, and brand voice are documented and in use across the site, sales conversations, and seller channels.
• Day 90: A working growth engine. At least one channel showing repeatable seller adoption, with metrics that tell us where to double down.

We're looking for someone with:

• 7+ years of marketing experience, including time as a first or founding marketer, or building a function from scratch
• A track record of owning outcomes — pipeline generated, adoption grown, CAC reduced — not just campaigns launched
• Fluency with live and social commerce as a growth channel (TikTok Shop, Whatnot, eBay Live, or similar)
• Strong instincts for positioning and storytelling, with the writing ability to execute personally
• Comfort operating with high ambiguity and limited resources — you define the playbook, not follow one
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is a plus

Nice to have:

• Experience activating brand presence through customer communities or seller networks
• Background in resale, secondhand, luxury goods, or trust-and-safety categories
• Content creation skills (video, copy, design direction)
• Familiarity with authentication or brand protection
