Role Overview As an Alpha Learning Guide, you will not teach content. Your primary responsibility is to motivate students and maintain high standards. You will facilitate life‑skills workshops, conduct individual and group coaching sessions, and analyze data to refine your coaching approach. What You Will Be Doing Facilitate one‑hour life‑skills workshops for K‑8 cohorts, customizing the existing playbook and creating new sessions when needed. Conduct daily individual and small‑group motivation sessions to drive students toward their weekly app goals, using Coachbot analytics, Alpha’s incentive structures (school currency, leaderboards), and rapport to overcome resistance. Administer Test2Pass (Alpha’s mastery‑based assessment) for each life skill and coach students who fall short until they achieve mastery. Adjust coaching approaches across a broad age range—from kindergarteners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct conversation and accountability. Analyze weekly cohort performance data in Coachbot, pinpoint students who are falling behind, and modify coaching tactics for the next week based on insights. What You Won’t Be Doing Deliver whiteboard lectures; academic content is embedded in the apps. Create an entire curriculum from scratch; you start with a playbook and personalize it. Passively monitor students on computers; motivation is active, direct, and persistent. Work through bureaucratic processes to secure resources for students; you decide and implement additional coaching time immediately. Grade assignments, run standardized test preparation, or handle parent communications; those tasks are reserved for Campus Leads. Key Responsibilities Ensure every student in your K‑8 cohort meets weekly learning targets, achieves mastery in each life skill, and finishes the year saying they loved working with you. Basic Requirements Willing to work on‑site at an Alpha campus in one of the listed locations (relocation support available). Bachelor’s degree in any field. Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with K‑8 students (teaching, coaching, tutoring, camp counseling, or youth program leadership). Concrete example of motivating a K‑8 student toward a challenging goal, including objective, actions, and result. Comfort with AI‑driven instructional delivery while focusing on motivation and life‑skills development. Legal authorization to work in the United States without visa sponsorship. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements Background in youth sports coaching, debate, camp leadership, theater, or after‑school programs with direct responsibility for motivating children toward measurable outcomes. Demonstrated record of high achievement (academic, athletic, or professional) showing a consistent practice of holding others to rigorous standards. Storytelling ability and stage presence capable of engaging a room of 12‑year‑olds for an hour without raising your voice. Proven success in converting disengaged or reluctant students into engaged, active learners. Working With Us This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The role is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record.
