Human Resources Assistant

Gordon McKernan Injury Attorneys

Baton Rouge, LA

The HR Assistant will perform administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the Human Resources department including, but not limited to recruiting & employee engagement.

Functions :

  • Recruiting assistance: coordinates job postings, correspondence with hiring manager, conducts phone screenings;
    drafts offer letters
  • Onboarding duties: input new hires into HRIS system, maintains documentation needed;
    facilitates new employee orientation
  • HRIS functions: ongoing upkeep of employment data & updates in UKG;
    reporting;
    payrollprep under the direction of payroll specialist
  • Engagement: assists in the planning and execution of employee engagement events throughout the year
  • Compliance: assists Director in the mandated HR reporting
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Director

Requirements

  • 1-2 years of work experience in human resources desired
  • Familiar with HRIS software: UKG specifically
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality & manage sensitive information with tact & professionalism
  • Strong communications skills essential in contacting prospective candidates and engaging with our staff
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Canva preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail
  • Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Human Resources Management or related field
