Overview

We are seeking a Senior AI & CAP Platform Development Consultant to provide specialised technical services on a cloud-native enterprise SaaS platform serving more than 15,000 business customers globally. The platform is built on SAP BTP / CAP (Node.js) and incorporates multi-agent AI systems, LangGraph-based orchestration, and grounded LLM capabilities over SAP business data. The engagement spans the full delivery lifecycle: CAP service design, AI system architecture, MLflow experiment management, DevSecOps, and Agile facilitation advisory.

The platform delivers learning access provisioning, certification management, and contract-driven entitlement services to enterprise customers. AI-assisted capabilities are an active investment area, including intelligent assignment recommendations, agentic operational tooling, and grounded LLM responses over SAP business data.

Scope of Services

Technical Delivery CAP / BTP

• Design and deliver CAP Node.js services: CDS entity modeling, OData V4 contracts, event-driven patterns, and service handler implementation
• Define SAP BTP Cloud Foundry deployment architecture; advise on service bindings, manifest management, and environment scaling
• Advise on CDS schema evolution (safe vs. lossy changes), API contract versioning, and multi-consumer service design
• Apply TDD practices using Vitest and @cap-js/cds-test; define and maintain CI/CD quality gates in Azure DevOps
• Advise on SAP HANA Cloud data modeling, OLTP/OLAP optimization, and Vector Engine configuration for semantic search

AI & Multi-Agent Development

• Architect and deliver stateful multi-agent workflows using LangGraph and SAP AI Core / Generative AI Hub
• Define agent topology, tool schemas and contracts, orchestration patterns, conditional edges, and loop termination strategies
• Design and implement human-in-the-loop checkpointing: approval flows, escalation triggers, and audit trails
• Execute model fine-tuning engagements (LoRA/QLoRA on Databricks): dataset curation, job execution, and quality evaluation against business benchmarks
• Design and deliver grounding pipelines combining vector search (SAP HANA Cloud Vector Engine or pgvector) with structured SAP business data
• Define AI experiment lifecycle via MLflow: run tracking, metric logging, model registry, artifact storage, and evaluation pipelines
• Define AI observability framework: token usage, latency per agent step, cost-per-run tracking, and hallucination detection reporting
• Build and evolve agentic operational tooling: scoped data retrieval, action execution interfaces, and escalation workflows for operations teams

Architecture & Technical Advisory

• Translate business requirements into technical architecture specifications, data models, and AI system designs
• Provide architectural guidance to developers on CAP design patterns, observability strategies, and agentic API design
• Advise on cross-team architecture alignment and identification of reusable components and services
• Design distributed, highly available microservices for multi-continent enterprise deployment scenarios

Agile Facilitation Services

• Provide facilitation services for Scrum ceremonies: sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and PI planning
• Advise on backlog structure, acceptance criteria quality, story decomposition, and cross-team dependency resolution
• Prepare and present roadmap status and AI capability progress to stakeholders at all levels
• Contribute to SAFe Program Increment planning and ART coordination activities

Security, Compliance & DevSecOps

• Apply and validate GDPR and data protection standards in delivered software, agent data flows, and API contracts
• Review and update security and authorisation concepts; track mitigation timelines for identified security findings
• Define and evolve CI/CD pipelines on Azure DevOps; integrate security scanning, testing, and release quality gates
• Identify and document privacy risks in feature design, model training datasets, and agentic data flows

Complex Incident Analysis & Operational Quality

• Provide specialist analysis and advisory input for high-complexity (3rd-level) escalation cases across CAP, ABAP, and AI pipeline layers
• Conduct root-cause analysis and deliver resolution guidance for critical platform quality incidents
• Advise on post-release quality monitoring using Dynatrace and Kibana across distributed BTP service layers

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise software development experience; strong SAP CAP (Node.js) and BTP Cloud Foundry background
• LangGraph stateful multi-agent workflow design: graph topology, node functions, conditional edges, checkpointing, streaming
• SAP AI Core / Generative AI Hub deploy, consume, and configure foundation models from CAP and ABAP contexts
• MLflow experiment tracking, run logging, model registry, and agent evaluation pipelines
• Databricks fine-tuning (LoRA/QLoRA), Unity Catalog governance, job scheduling, model serving endpoints
• RAG pipeline design: vector search strategy, chunking policies, embedding selection, and re-ranking for enterprise knowledge bases
• CDS 10 entity modeling, OData V4, event-driven CAP patterns, and schema evolution best practices
• SAFe Agile delivery: PI planning, ART coordination, backlog advisory, and Scrum ceremony facilitation
• Azure DevOps CI/CD: pipeline architecture, quality gate definition, and DevSecOps practice evolution
• ABAP OO (7.54+): read, extend, and deliver ABAP services; NetWeaver OData / Gateway integration patterns
• GDPR / data protection: anonymisation, PII lifecycle, right-to-stop-processing, and multi-jurisdiction compliance
• Dynatrace and Kibana for BTP observability; structured prompt engineering for deterministic business outputs
• Fluent English; proven experience delivering in distributed international project teams
