HVAC Service Technician

The HVAC Service Technician is responsible for the installation, repair, and operation of equipment, focusing on Temporary Climate Solutions, Emergency Drying Services, and Document Recovery Services. This position involves accurately completing all project, equipment maintenance, and other required documentation on a daily basis. Technicians are expected to complete and submit expense reports accurately and promptly to ensure company-issued credit cards remain current.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain, and demobilize temporary climate control equipment on project sites, including desiccant dehumidifiers, refrigerant-based dehumidifiers, DX air conditioning units, air-cooled chillers, air handlers and coil modules, heaters (gas, electric, diesel), ventilation and air filtration, remote monitoring and controls.
• Proactively communicate and interface with customers, sales team, and operations counterparts as necessary.
• Utilize downtime to maintain and prepare equipment for upcoming projects when not working on assigned projects.
• Organize, clean, and maintain a safe, orderly, and efficient work area and shop with the assigned team.
• Practice and promote on-the-job safety at all times.
• Continue to develop and actively engage in the Polygon Core Competency and Development Plan.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area and vehicle.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Minimum two years of technical school or two years of related field experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and mechanical skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented and professional manner.
• Ability to perform physically demanding duties.
• Willingness to work overtime and travel on short notice, sometimes for extended durations (typically 1-3 weeks).
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to tow trailers for equipment delivery.
• Competence in using IT hardware and equipment for documentation and reporting.

This position offers a training period with the SoCal office team to familiarize you with the work schedule and routine, with a six-month contract to hire. There are opportunities for overtime, and as the company expands in Arizona, new hires have the potential to be promoted to lead roles quickly. Regular reviews every three months and annually provide continuous feedback and development opportunities.

Work Environment

Work will be conducted at several data centers in the valley, including Mesa Meta Data Center and others. You may be required to commute to Tucson and Casa Grande for service work. Most shifts are outdoors, Monday to Friday from 5:30 AM to 2 PM, with some Saturdays and potential on-call hours after shifts. Direct reporting will be to a manager in SoCal. Basic toolsets and PPE are provided, though employees need their own steel-toed shoes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 – $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
